Lightroom 2!
For the last several years, I’ve been honored to be able to mix the two great interests of my life: software development and photography. I get to work with some amazingly talented people who all enjoy the same things. The fruits of our latest labors are out there for you to enjoy! Lightroom 2 became available a few minutes ago. That’s me in the first line of credits.
My efforts have been primarily centered around making it possible for third-party developers to extend Lightroom with plug-ins. If you’re interested in exploring the new SDK, have a look at the just-updated Lightroom Developer Center.
Some of my favorite new goodies:
- smart collections
- new filtering interface
- new keywording interface
- localized corrections (they rock! — many of the recent photos in my photostream have benefitted from them)
- post-crop vignetting
- export post-processing actions
There’s a lot more, of course, but these are the ones I find myself using day in and day out.

Congratulations, Eric! You guys are on a roll……professionally and personally! Couldn’t happen to better people. K
Hey, congratulations! I look forward to using the new LR with my photos!
The beta was my first exposure to Lightroom, and it’s been great. I’m looking forward to getting the 2.0 release.
